# What Is the Bridge?

**Bridge** moves tokens through the **Enosys Bridge** straight from its contracts. It lives at [thanasdefitools.xyz/bridge](https://thanasdefitools.xyz/bridge).

## Routes

| Route | Home chain sends | You receive |
| ------------------- | ------------------------ | ----------------- |
| Ethereum ↔ Flare | USDT, ETH (or WETH), QNT | eUSDT, eETH, eQNT |
| Ethereum ↔ Songbird | USDT, ETH (or WETH) | exUSDT, exETH |
| XDC ↔ Songbird | XDC | exXDC |

Each route works both ways. Bridging from the home chain is a **wrap**. Bridging back to the home chain is an **unwrap**. The tokens a route carries are read from the bridge contracts, so the page always lists what the bridge carries now.

## How the Enosys Bridge works

The Enosys Bridge is a lock-and-mint bridge:

* **Wrap:** you deposit the real token into the bridge contract on its home chain (Ethereum or XDC). The token stays locked there. Once validators approve the transfer, the bridge contract on Flare or Songbird mints the same amount of the bridged token (eUSDT, exETH and so on) to the recipient, less fees.
* **Unwrap:** you deposit the bridged token on Flare or Songbird, where it is burned. Once validators approve the transfer, the bridge contract on the home chain releases the real token to the recipient, less fees.

Every transfer needs the approval of validators from **two committees**. Transfers on a route are executed in order, one after the other.

When you send native ETH or XDC, the page first wraps it into WETH or WXDC, as the official app does.

## What this page adds

* **Checks before you deposit.** The bridge has no refund: a deposit can only arrive through the validators. So just before your deposit, the page reads the route again and refuses to send when the route is paused or replaced, or when transfers have stopped going through. See [Making a Transfer](/thanasdefitools-docs/bridge/making-a-transfer.md#when-the-page-refuses-a-deposit).
* **Your transfers, followed until they arrive.** The page shows each of your transfers and its progress through the validators.
* **A Stats tab.** Each route's waiting and completed transfers, and how long transfers take.

## No servers

The page reads and writes the bridge contracts directly from your browser. It reads Ethereum and XDC through Ankr's public endpoints, and Flare and Songbird through their public nodes and block explorers. The official app is at [bridge.enosys.global](https://bridge.enosys.global).

## Contracts

The page talks only to the Enosys Bridge's own contracts. Their addresses are in [Deployments](/thanasdefitools-docs/for-developers/deployments.md#bridge).
